Let Go To Heal

Forgiveness is a very private matter. It is a most vulnerable process we experience but don't always know how to explain. We are hesitant to reveal this war within because in truth, we don't know what it looks like ourselves. It becomes a blur of battles, scenarios we paint in our minds incase they come to life. A constant search for points of attack that can repeat themselves as they have in the past.

Anger, sadness, disappointment, they cannot leave the harbor of darkness where we keep count of every injustice we have experienced. This inner harbor of pain leads to shame. Shame in holding onto parts we know still hurt us.

Forgiveness is one of the hardest things a human can do, but one of the most beautiful.

Don't hold someone hostage in your mind. It keeps your energy away from your heart. Your mental prison doesn't change what they did, or how it made you feel. It doesn't hold them accountable, only powerful over you.

When you set them free, when you let the injustice turn from rage to ashes, you set your heart free to be a place of love instead of collecting dust behind the cage you built around it.

When you forgive, you make room to heal where the blame kept you bleeding.

Forgive for you, it's the only thing left to do.

It's the only way to move on, and bloom.
